MALI – Fratricidal killings in Kidal

25th July, 2016
While the Malian people were paying tribute to soldiers fallen in the Nampala attack, weapons were being fired and people were “dying like flies” in the town and surrounds of Kidal. The killing was being done by tribal brothers; the Ifoghas and Imghads. A Touareg union sealed in an earlier peace deal did not last long, and at the present time the two tribes are still at each other’s throats. In the end, it is Mali that loses, because its children are being killed.
